What We Believe

The Gospel

The Gospel is the good news that God our Father, the Creator, out of His great love for us, has come to rescue us from sin, satan, death, and hell, and to renew all things in and through the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf, and to establish His Kingdom through his people, in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is for God’s great glory and our profound joy.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe in the One Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. We believe in the Holy Scriptures as the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God.

  3. We believe God created humans in his own image, both male and female.

  4. We believe all humans are corrupted by sin and therefore alienated from God with a due penalty of death.

  5. We believe in the Word made Flesh, Jesus Christ, truly God and truly human, and in his life, death, resurrection and ascension.

  6. We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ who took our place in life and death as atonement for our sins.

  7. We believe by the grace of God, all those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ shall be reconciled with God.

  8. We believe the Holy Spirit is present with and dwells in all believers.

  9. We believe, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to live as citizens of the Kingdom of God.

  10. We believe, as followers of Jesus Christ, we belong to the universal Church of all believers and are called to be active members of the local church.

  11. We believe, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel, to make disciples, and to show the love, mercy, grace, and kindness to all of God’s creation.

  12. We believe in baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordained by Jesus Christ himself.

  13. We believe in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ to gather his bride, the Church.

  14. We believe in the restoration of all things and the final consummation of the Kingdom where Jesus will reign forever and ever as King.

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.
